Watson v. Hardwoods

Lookie!! Hardwoods at the man home are dark and lush! Well, almost officially dark and lush. They weren't even dry here and they should be good to go on Saturday. I'm totes excited.

There's only one thing standing in my way when it comes to living in harmony with gorgeous dark hardwoods...

This guy. I'm pretty sure his first order of business will be trying to destroy my joy by going from zero to greyhound speed when he runs and pounces on his bone. There's only one solution. Don't judge me.

Do you have a better idea?

  1. Love your dark stained wood floors. I have a 70 lb. boxer and she has destroyed our hardwoods. Her daily sprint to the front door to let the mailman know she is chief of security has scratched them really bad. I have been wondering if there is some type of "scratch resistant" sealer that can be used if/when I have them refinished.

Area rugs help, but when she gets crazy there is no stopping her! Those booties are hilarious, wonder if Watson will get used to them! He is so cute!

    1. Hi Lisa!!

I'll let you know how they turn out once we start living with them, but we're doing three coats of a satin poly. Our hardwood guy said he wouldn't have to refinish the floors completely if scratches start to show up, he can just lightly sand it and add another coat. Maybe pay a little extra and get four coats of poly?

Area rugs are completely ineffective with Watson. I come home and all of our rugs are somehow scrunched up and bundled in a corner. He's a wizard.

  2. hi there! im new, over from La Dolce Vita. So nice to meet you. These look like the best free-for-all a dog could have. my 43 lb bulldog hates her life because i require her nails be trimmed weekly so they dont touch the ground. Luckily he paw pads are so fat that they dont. but if i had the opportunity to have NEW floors like you, id totally be wrapping her in some 'that dog mom' booties. cant wait to follow along of the room decorating!

    1. If only I had a bulldog! Do you trim her nails yourself? I'm too scared I'll hurt him. Thanks so much for reading and following along!

  5. Dark wooden floor is looking different from others. Your dark floor is not looking good mostly floor not like that. Its would be very difficult to match furniture, color combination etc.
