Bedroom Wars: Pick the Bedside Table

Well ladies and gentlemen, the belated time has come for me to reveal the winner of the Bedroom Wars bed. You voted. And the winner is...

I must say I'm really proud of you readers for not indulging in the $34,000 bed. Especially since this is all make believe. BUT the Victoria Bed is a delightful and squishy canvas for the journey we're about to embark on. Your next choice is certainly going to set the tone for the entire room. So, don't screw it up. 

What is a bed without bedside table? Well, it's still a bed but your evening toddy isn't going to have a place to keep steady and will end up staining your sheets. A Competition for Love -- No, Not The Bachelor

But I did in fact watch The Bachelor on cupid's birthday. And might I mention that it was quite a depressing episode for all of those lonely hearts to view on such a contrived holiday. How could you ABC? Simply insensitive. 


Anywho, manfriend and I decided to do what we do best on the Hallmark holiday and compete. Because, really, what says love more than being able to say "na na na na boo boo I beat you"? Therefore, we had a pizza cook off. The results...

Mine was of the taleggio, prosciutto, pear, arugula, truffle oil and balsamic drizzle variety

His was of the mozzarella, prosciutto (we like cured meats, duh), corn, onion, sweet potato and balsamic glaze variety  

The winner?

Obviously the chocolate covered strawberries.

Manfriend did do a dandy job on his flower selections. I mean, am I lucky or what? No dozen roses here. Man has some serious skills. I have a project in place to recreate those lovely red pokey thingies.

The night wouldn't be complete without a gift exchange. A molecular gastronomy kit. I'm completely terrified and delighted to see what comes out of this little box. Don't know what molecular gastronomy is? Start watching Top Chef. Particularly the episodes that feature the little rat Marcel.

Meeting and Greeting at the Market

Is it really February 13th? Have I really not contributed anything for 11 days? I suck. Before you try to make me feel better, I need to explain even more why I suck. I went to The Urban Market today and recalled the last time I visited was the same time last year after I started this little bloggie. Which made me realize that I forgot my own blogiversary. I suck. Don't worry, I didn't stay in this deep depression for too long. I engaged in a little retail therapy.

Wilson (Will + Watson) accompanied me like they did last year to The Urban Market after our weekly fish taco ritual at Berryhill. We were immediately greeted by the sweet and talented Sally Wheat who recognized Watson. I knew I adopted him for a reason. Recognition. Sally loved on Watson and we chit chatted and soaked up the 68 degree Houston sun. If Watson wasn't "altered" I would definitely give Sally a bubbas baby. I think she deserves one. 

I also met Meg Lonergan of LeSueur Interiors who I may or may not have purchased a lovely little lovely from. She was just the sweetest and I urge you to pop on over to her blog.

Wilson and I continued perusing.

But kept getting "What kind of dog is that?" questions. And were interrogated by a three year old who informed us that she gave another dog some cheese and that she likes grapes. To say the least, I was a little distracted. But never fear, I managed to make a purchase.

I also hopped into High Fashion Home and stumbled on a little fabric loving. What are we thinking here? Do my Kelly Wearstler's want these supple swatches as sofa roommates? WWKD? What Would Kelly Do? 

So here it is. What I managed to leave with. A practically comatose canine and a beautiful little table that is going to support all of my toddy tokens. Successful day? Do you really have to guess?

Watson Wednesdays: The Hair Cut Series Fin

Let me just preface this post by saying the reasoning behind this entire series was really because of these photos. Without these photos I really don't think I would have had the proper punch line in the joke that is Watson's life. Let me also preface by saying that I never EVER returned to this groomer. And that I promise I'll stop "entertaining" you with photos of my dog. I know I'm really the only one that thinks he's entertaining. 

Let us begin...

Miss groomer lady didn't get the memo and clearly mistook Watson for a female poodle. He is none of those things. But I must say that he looks quite pleased with his frock and thinks himself a regal ruff ruff. I immediately got in my car, snapped this shot, and started laughing hysterically. I have no idea why I even paid this woman. 

I got home and just couldn't take the humiliation anymore. I simply could not look him in the eye. So I picked up my scissors and I fixed the problem. "Fixed" being a relative term.

And that, my friends, is how I broke Watson's heart.

I've Got Chills, They're Multiplyin'

If you're like the majority of the nation, you're freezing your arse off today. Special shout out to that Arctic blast. You cold, heartless windbag. At least Watson is cozying up in his combating his chills with a small dose of argyle and naps. Speaking of Watson, you're in for an extra special treat for Watson Wednesday tomorrow.

I couldn't say wud up to you lovelies today with out announcing a seriously exciting announcement. The much anticipated High Gloss Magazine was released today.
